Hi,

I inherited a 902 piano. Worked for a little bit but would make a bang noise and the no sound for a bit. Then sound would return. Same thing would happen through the headphones. I noticed if i tapped the heat sink on the amplifier board the noise would occur sometimes. I have removed this board and dont see anything obvious. Any thoughts or suggestions?

thanks,

The power amp is dying or dead and they are not easy to get replacement parts for.  The excessive heat they generate also cooks other parts of the board.  I removed the amp transistors and used a smaller seperate ampliofier that I out inside the case.  Mike Barden will probably be able to fix it for you if you are happy to pay out.  I had another problem previously that he fixed for about £80.  I considered it worth it as the piano is extremely good.

    Hi,

I was thinking of adding a separate amp. How hard was it to find a amp that would work and how hard was it to remove the parts needed to make it work?
