i cannot find how to download the KN6000 free STRICTLY BALLADS styles . Can you advise me please. I am logged in and also a member. Thanks Neil.
I am having the same problem as beanneil – I am a member and am logged in, but I do not know how to download Strictly Ballads. There does not appear to be a download button. Help, please! Thanks. .
Thank you both for taking the time to comment, it helps me a lot in tracking potential problems. The site is complicated and it has to be because I’m preparing to add about 110,000 files to it!
I am able to log in to your accounts “as you” to be able to check things (that doesn’t mean that I know your password, it is encrypted and only you have access to it).
Bear in mind in my explanations below that Downloads Dashboard is tailored to each Member individually. It is the central place to access your personal Download Packages.
@trevorbuckle when logged in you should see three blue download buttons. One button next to each version of the files so that you can download the one that suits your instrument. You should also see an “Add to Cart” button. This adds all three versions to the Cart to be processed. Many of the free files need to go through the Downloads Cart, this is a security mechanism to prevent other sites from linking to the files. I logged in to your account and could see all of these buttons and tested downloading and adding to the cart. That all worked fine and the files are showing up in your Downloads Dashboard. You may have received some emails to confirm that I have downloaded files using your account. I also receive emails when Members successfully download the files, so I know that Strictly Ballads has been successfully downloaded hundred of times at this point.
That said, unknown glitches can happen and maybe this was one of those. Please try again and comment here if there’s an issue.
@beanneil You don’t have a FREE or VIP Subscription Plan. It is possible to be a member of the site but not have a Plan but you can’t download without one. I can see that the page was not clear about this and I’ve added explanatory notes on this page and a few other places around the site. Sorry, I can see that was confusing. I can also see that the red SUBSCRIBE button is linked incorrectly and I’ll fix that soon, there is programming to do behind that. Add a FREE Plan and you should be good to go.
Please both let me know how you get on and note the following:
Adding all three files to the cart is more confusing for you in the future because there will be three versions of the files in the zip that you download from your Downloads Dashboard. So the individual blue Download buttons are generally better.
I would appreciate your feedback if you find the Styles are not working in your instrument. In trying to cover so many models in just three versions there might be incompatibilities. I can’t test every file in every model and the three downloads cater for over 40 Technics models. If they don’t work, I’ll make them work 🙂
Hello again both. Just to mention that I might have got confused between the two of you. I couldn’t remember which of you had the Free Plan and which didn’t when I wrote the notes, so please read both explanations in case I’ve addressed them incorrectly and let me know if you need more help. I think @beanneil DOES have a FREE subscription and @trevorbuckle doesn’t. My apologies, I’m doing my best to answer a lot of queries. Mike
No problems downloading the Zip file. It all went smoothly. Thanks.
I am logged in but cannot find the 3 blue buttons for download the Strictly Ballad styles. Please help.
Downloads successful after setting up a free account – which I thought I had already done! Thanks for your help.
Hi @nam in addition to being a member of the site you need a FREE or VIP subscription plan in order to download files. There are several reasons for this such as:
– it keeps our files secure
– some people want a website membership and don’t want a subscription
– the website enables members to sell items such as downloads and equipment (these features are not enabled yet)
– some people don’t want to join the website at all but still want to be able to buy items
The system in place allows for all of these aspects and more. Unfortunately it’s complicated but I’m simplifying things day-by-day to the best of my ability.
You can get a FREE or VIP Subscription on the following page:
I’ll also move this link to the Downloads menu and add some additional explanations around the website.
PS there are badges for Website Membership and Subscription Plans. You’ll see a green tick badge in your profile when you have a FREE Plan. The FREE Plan option will also be ‘greyed out’ on the Subscription page when you have a FREE Downloads Plan (in which case you’ll see the Download buttons).
I managed to download striclly ballads eventually. I still don’t know how I got to the download button as the site is very very confusing. Slill am grateful for the extra styles for my kn6000 and look forward to learning more about the board and the support which is welcome.
hi @bob_d3 thanks for persisting. I know the site is fairly complicated at the moment, it will become more straightforward and your feedback helps with that. Do let us know how the Styles sound! Any help you need, just post a message in the Forums and I’ll do my best. Cheers, Mike
The Ballad styles sound terrific. I found that once a style was in panel memory then it was then easy to load another rhythm – say Big Band Slow and save it to another panel memory and you have a new style with no effort. Look forward to more releases as I really would like to play the keyboard but without spending more time than necessary setting it up. I have now saved your site in favourites as I was getting confused with the main Tecknics.7000 site.
Managed to download the files ok but wasn’t sure if I needed to then copy all 60 files to a a floppy disk. Did so anyway and loaded the disk into my KN7000 and ‘wallah! the 12 classic variants came up no problem. Thank you.
Hi @cheadlehouse & All,
That’s great! Yes, the idea is that you download the version relevant to your instrument and then copy all the files out of the zip onto floppy. These professional Styles also have fantastic Panel Memories set up that you can use in multiple combinations.
Lots more coming soon as I’m starting to feeling better now, I’ve been very ill again. Anyway, enough of that I’m on the mend 😀
I’m going to try to send a newsletter out later to update you all.
I don’t see any download or zip contain link, button or etc.
How can I get the free Strictly Ballads pack?

On KN5000 when I load from floppy, I am getting the error message that the files are for a different instrument.
