Activity Stream – Read What’s New
Our Activity Stream is a round-up of Blogs, Forum posts and Group posts. It’s a summary of all Community Activities, a place for you to catch-up. At the top of the Activity Stream you can also post your personal update (this update will also appear on your profile as you main message). The Activity Stream is on the Community Menu.
Forums – For Help and Discussion
The Forums are the place to go for a structured chat with replies. There are Forums for General Chat (anything) and for your particular instrument (talk about your instrument or ask for help in these). We also have Polls and other community interests. Join in, it’s fun to make like-minded friends worldwide! Forums are on the Community Menu.
Groups – Reflect Your Interests
The Community Groups are a less-structured conversation (more like Twitter and Facebook than a structured forum). You can join Groups that have topics you enjoy. Post in a Group to hold discussions with a circle of members (usually about your instrument). Our more structured (conversation-threaded) Forums exist inside the Groups. Groups are on the Community Menu.
Your Profile – A Personal Hub
It’s all about You! In your Profile you can see all your own Topics, Replies, Private Messages, Group Activities, Friends, Private Messages, Blogs and everything else about your personal participation. You also control your personal settings, Avatar (personal picture), Personal Biography (Bio) and Forum Signature here. Your Profile is in the Profile Menu.
THE BLOG! Shout it Out Loud!
So what’s a Blog? ‘Blog’ is shot for ‘Weblog’ (web log). It’s like a personal diary for the whole world to read. Most Blogs are personal to the Webmaster of the website and don’t allow for participation other than comments back to the site owner’s diary entries. However, our Blog is a Community Weblog. This is the place to really share your thoughts, music and opinions. You get an entire web page to yourself for each Blog entry (known as a Post) and any member can comment on your Post. You can reply to members comments on your Post and hold a conversation on your topic of choice.
To create a Blog Page go to your Profile, click on “Blog” and then “New Post”. You can add numerous pictures, audio files video uploads (or links to Youtube), upload Styles to share or just talk about your musical musings and memories or share hints and tips. Add an engaging picture as your Featured Image (which automatically appears at the top of your post) or leave it to me and I’ll add one when I get time. Blogs are not the place to ask for help, use the Forums for that.
Technics U90 Video
It’s a beast! It is barely Digital having been introduced in 1981 as the U90 and 1982 and the amazing-looking silver Technics Pro 90, with extravagent space-age styling and voluminous amplified speakers.
And what Brian can do with it!? No touch sensitivity, no fancy articulations and no drawbars! He coaxes quite a performance from what would might be considered as a 30-year-old Retro instrument. It was the first Organ I ever played on stage, at 16 years of age. However, definitely not with Brian Sharp’s accomplished, witty aplomb! I only saw Brian playing twice, both times on the Kawai T30, absolutely tremendous.
